Оn January 2021 a sludge dewatering system was launched in Phoenix, AZ, at one of the largest breweries in the USA. This system is designed for around-the-clock operation and includes one multi-disc screw press dehydrator MDQ-354 C and three shaftless screw conveyors.
MDQ-354 C dehydrator dewaters aerobically stabilized DAF-thickened MBBR sludge at a capacity of 70 gpm with 2–4% DS content. Dewatered sludge is then discharged into two parallel dumpsters through the system of three – one feed and two distribution – conveyors. The feed conveyor receives cake from the dehydrator and transports it to one of two distributing conveyors depending on cake level in the dumpsters. Each distributing conveyor discharges cake to a separate dumpster through two discharge spouts each equipped with an ultrasonic level sensor for cake level measurement. This allows to evenly fill the dumpsters with the dewatered sludge.
