Esmil Corp. successfully completed another project, involving the delivery and commissioning of the MDQ series Multi-Disk Screw Press at the wastewater treatment plant in Covington, Ohio. The solution provided by Esmil Corp. fully met the client’s needs, and the results achieved confirm the effectiveness and efficiency of the tailored technologies.

 

Introduction

The Covington Wastewater Treatment Plant recently undertook a series of upgrades to enhance its sludge processing capacity. Faced with the growing demand for more efficient dewatering of aerobically digested waste activated sludge (WAS), the facility sought a solution that could not only meet their current operational needs but also accommodate future growth. Partnering with Esmil, the plant deployed a Multi-Disk Screw Press system, designed specifically to handle both present and future throughput requirements, ensuring long-term operational efficiency and flexibility.

 

Esmil’s solution

Esmil Corp. specialists, considering the potential future increase in the treatment plant’s capacity, initially recommended the Multi-Disk Screw Press MDQ-401 model as the best fit for dewatering. However, with future capacity increases in mind, Esmil reserved an additional spot for an extra drum, evolving the configuration into the MDQ-402(1) CLD. This forward-thinking design ensures that all necessary electrical and mechanical provisions are already in place, allowing for an easy upgrade when the need arises. The result is a perfectly engineered solution that meets both current and future operational demands.
