Succesful commisioning of Esmil dewatering equipment at a Dairy Facility in Wisconsin

Esmil Corp has successfully completed a project at a Wisconsin dairy facility, where a new dewatering system, based on the Multi-Disk Screw Press MDQ-403 CLS is now fully operational. The system was designed to tackle the unique challenge of processing mixed aerobic and anaerobic sludge, providing the dairy with an efficient solution for effective sludge dewatering.

Challenge

The dairy required an efficient solution to dewater a sludge mixture of aerobic and anaerobic types with a dry solids content of just 1.5%. The specific demands included a flow rate of 55 GPM and a dry cake output greater than 15%.

Solution

After conducting comprehensive research, including pilot and jar testing, Esmil Corp specialists identified the ideal solution for the dairy: the Multi-Disk Screw Press MDQ-403 CLS. This advanced system, featuring a 16-inch diameter and a three-drum press design, was perfectly suited to meet the facility’s needs.

ESMIL equipment installed at the facility

Esmil Corp supplied and commissioned a complete dewatering solution for the dairy, including:

This integrated system was tailored to ensure smooth, efficient operation and meet the dairy’s specific processing needs. Esmil service team oversaw the installation with attention to detail, ensuring that all platforms, feed lines, drains, and electrical systems were properly configured and thoroughly tested. The system’s startup went seamlessly, with no major technical issues, confirming it was fully prepared for full-scale operation.

Performance

After installation, the dewatering system, based on the Multi-Disk Screw Press MDQ-403 CLS, performed exactly as expected and fully met the client’s requirements. The infeed sludge flow was gradually increased until it reached 55 GPM, and all mechanical and electrical components operated correctly. The dry cake produced met the client’s specifications, with dry solids content surpassing 15%,  confirming the system’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Conclusion

The successful commissioning of Esmil’s Multi-Disk Screw Press MDQ at the Wisconsin dairy facility demonstrates the effectiveness of this tailored solution in addressing the unique challenges of processing both mixed aerobic and anaerobic sludge. Esmil Corp.’s advanced technology, thorough research, and dedicated service have resulted in a system that exceeds the dairy’s performance expectations.

As continuous improvements and optimizations are implemented, the dairy is positioned to achieve even greater efficiency and long-term operational reliability. This project reinforces Esmil Corp.’s commitment to innovation and strengthens its leadership in providing cutting-edge wastewater treatment and sludge dewatering solutions across the United States.
